Mary B. Bowersox

 

Mary B. Bowersox, 91, of Lewisburg, died Monday, April 16, 2012 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

Born May 16, 1920 in Montour County, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Cottie (Bruss) Weaver.  On September 7, 1935, she married Harvey J. Bowersox, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage until his death on December 6, 1986.

Early in life, Mary worked for Milton shoe factory.  She later retired from Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village where she worked as a Housekeeper.

She was a member of Hillside Bible Church, Mifflinburg.

Mary enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and making quilts.  She was an avid fan of the Game Show Network where she watched many of her favorite classic game shows.  Mary also liked word puzzles, reading and watching birds in her backyard.

Surviving is one daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Roy Rathmell of Lewisburg; one daughter-in-law, Marjorie Bowersox of Lewisburg; one sister, Betty Halderman of Millville; eight grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by two sons, Ronald and Harvey Bowersox; one daughter, Mabel Reichelderfer; one great-granddaughter, Bethany Rathmell; two brothers; and six sisters.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg, where the funeral will be held at 11a.m. with her grandson, the Rev. Kevin Rathmell of Chapman Community Chapel, Port Trevorton, officiating.

Burial will follow in Mazeppa Union Cemetery.
